CAMPUS CHAMPIONS: A COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE
The Campus Champions program is a flourishing and evolving one-of-a-kind community of practice within the national research computing ecosystem. The Champions community is currently made up of over 600 Champions at over 300 US colleges, universities and other research-focused institutions and has evolved to accommodate and support the diversity and growth of today’s research computing community.
CHAMPIONS HELP RESEARCHERS COMPUTE
A Champion is an employee or affiliate of a college or university or other nonprofit institution engaged in research. Champions help researchers, educators and scholars with their computing and data intensive research, education, scholarship, and/or creative activity, including, but not limited to helping them identify and use advanced digital capabilities to improve, grow and/or accelerate these achievements. Champions are peer mentors and facilitators navigating an ever-changing digital research landscape.
CHAMPIONS BRING EXPERTISE TO THEIR INSTITUTIONS
Campus Champions have access to training resources, subject matter experts, workshops, regional and national conferences, and an online community of peer mentors. Champions are continuously acquiring knowledge that will be brought back to their home institutions, directly benefiting research and scholarly achievements.
